RE: Previously discussed arrangement
-----------------------------------------------------------
As per our previous discussion, I have endeavored
to secure for you that which will persuade you to make
every effort to ensure that Agent Dana Scully's medical
situation is rectified. In effect, I offer the following
deal, which I have managed to negotiate with Hearts-n-
Bullets Publishers, Inc.:
An Agreement by which you, the Author, writing
under the pseudonym of Raul Bloodworth, promise
to deliver to the Publisher UNTITLED WORK #1 and
UNTITLED WORK #2, the first two books in a series
featuring the adventures of master spy Jack Colquitt.
Publisher agrees to publish each manuscript within 18
months of delivery and acceptance, both in hardcover
format with reprints in trade paperback.
Publisher agrees to pay Author an advance of $25,000,
$12,000 of which is allocated to UNTITLED WORK #1
and $13,000 of which is allocated to UNTITLED WORK
#2. Publisher will pay $10,000 of said sum on the signing
of this Agreement, with an additional $7,500 to be paid
upon the delivery and acceptance of each Work. Royalty
rate shall be 6% on hardcover, 8% on trade paperback.
In addition, I've also managed to secure for you all
translation rights, multimedia rights, audio rights,
and film and television rights. In fact, the number of
rights which you retain under this Agreement is quite
unprecedented, due to the extreme and highly unusual
circumstances of this situation.
I trust that you will find this deal to be more than
generous. I look forward to hearing from you and to the
immediate resolution of Agent Scully's health crisis.
